Yesterday in my super fun FB group, The Likeminded Ladies Lounge, the subject of how to budget your business came up. I shared one of my favorite ways to keep my Starbucks obsession in check, and today I’m sharing it with you! Plus, I’ve got a cheat sheet for you that will majorly help you keep track of your business spending every month!

This tip is SO simple, and it really works!
I’m a total Starbucks addict, and those trips every morning (and sometimes in the afternoon!) really add up!
Many people don’t realize that by purchasing a Starbucks gift card for yourself, and reloading it, you’ll earn freebies AND have a really easy way to track how much your morning buzz is costing you every month!
The next time you visit your favorite barista/baristo for your fix, grab a gift card, and load whatever amount you want to spend for the next month.
Don’t forget to keep all the receipts when you reload your card, so you can write some of the purchases off on your taxes!
Once you’ve bought your gift card, grab your handy dandy smartphone and download the free Starbucks app. There, you’ll create an account, and link your debit card, credit card, or PayPal account so that you can easily reload it whenever you need more moolah.

The trick is to make a budget and stick to it! So, say I load $100 on the first of the month, but by the 19th I only have a few pennies on my card. I’m out of luck, and have to wait until the 1st to grab another latte!
This is a great way to prevent overspending!
Plus, once you’ve spent a certain amount, they send you a gold member card, and it just feels fancy.

If you struggle to keep track of what you’re making and spending every month when it comes to your business, check out this easy to stick to spreadsheet! Simply write down every penny you’re paid, and every penny you spend! Yes, when you go buy paperclips for $2.00, write it down! You might be surprised how much you’re really spending every month on random small purchases.
By keeping track of your spending, it will be easier to see where you can cut back.
