Have you ever felt restless? That feeling where one of the moving parts that make up your life feels off, but you can’t quite place which one, and you have no idea what it will take to feel whole again? Over the past few months I’ve been living in a constant state of restlessness, and I’ve finally pinpointed exactly which part of my life I need to change. My business. Over the past few weeks, I’ve been thinking a lot about where I am and where I want to go, and I’ve decided that Kimberly Haydn Consulting as I know it can no longer exist. Change is coming, mom boss, and I am SO flippin’ excited about it!
When I first started my consulting business, I felt strongly about helping women build businesses they loved. I feel so blessed to have had opportunities to chat with all sorts of women, at all different seasons of their lives, from all over the world, about working smarter, not harder, so they can not only design businesses they adore but have time to LIVE.
When I launched Kimberly Haydn Consulting at the end of 2014, my daughter Dakota was my one and only. She was in third grade, which meant I was far removed from changing diapers and had a good six hours each weekday to work. It was glorious!
In May of this year my sweet baby Myla threw my sweet schedule for a loop; now my workdays look entirely different. Running my business feels different, my outlook has changed, and my goals have shifted. Being a mom boss has been taken to a whole new level!

So, I’ve made the decision to redesign my business, and shift my focus to working moms!
While I’m still over the moon about all women reaching for their dreams, I’m even more passionate about helping moms build businesses and raise babies in a way that feels authentic, pleasant, and as easy as humanly possible.
Let’s face it, us moms face a slew of issues that non-mom boss business owners just don’t deal with (and often, relate to). When we’re working, we feel guilty for not spending more time with our kids. When we’re with our family, we feel we should be doing more for our businesses. Our self-care takes a backseat because we spend our days giving every ounce of ourselves to everyone else. The bags under our eyes have bags because our sleep is seriously jacked up. Our choices when getting dressed are often our good yoga pants, or our super comfy lived in yoga pants. Uninterrupted time is limited (or nonexistent) so work gets completed in short spurts, which can make being productive feel impossible.
Granted, running a business is hard no matter what. Kids or no kids. But us moms, we need to band together to make living our dreams so simple that our days feel effortless!
Ok, maybe that’s a tall order, but who says we can’t try!
In the upcoming weeks I will be making changes to my website, and social media platforms, to make my focus more on moms who want to build successful businesses that allow them to keep their family at the center. We’ll still be chatting business, but will be throwing kids into the mix!
